Who We Are
Everyone who is directly involved with Families on Mission International is committed to the beliefs and values of the organization. The Board of Directors, staff, & partners lead the organization through personal integrity and financial responsibility.- Carl Smith, Executive Director: Carl has a passion for missions, families, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and bringing all three together through shared mission experiences. Carl has 30 years of full-time church staff ministry experience serving in recreation, prayer, young marrieds, children & family ministries. He is driven by the Word of God and a calling to see families “on-mission” 24/7. His goal, above all else, is to exalt the name of Jesus Christ through the work of Families on Mission International.
- Dana Smith, Business Manager: Dana’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Baylor University helps as she serves as our Business Manager. She enjoys working behind the scenes and building relationships with others in order to share God’s love. She is the wife of our Executive Director, Carl Smith. She has a passion for seeing families on mission with God.
- Carl & Dana are active members of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. They have been married & serving the Lord together for 39 years. They have 2 grown daughters who are married and also have three granddaughters and two grandsons. The shared family mission experience has been a part of their lives personally as they began family missions with their daughters at the ages of 10 & 13. They have led trips to places such as Germany, Honduras, Israel, Kenya, Tanzania, Myanmar & Dominican Republic.
- Board of Directors: The Board of Directors is personally invested in the work of Families on Mission. The board exists to maintain accountability within the organization.

What We Believe
About the Bible
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.
About God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.
About Mankind
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort alone.
About Salvation
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs only when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
About the Christian Life
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
About the Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world.
